The YMCA of East Tennessee will always put the safety of its members, program participants and staff first when decisions need to be made concerning inclement weather. When inclement weather poses a threat, the YMCA may adjust or cancel scheduled hours of operation, programs and/or special events. If such circumstances occur, please check with the following agencies for additional information:
- Check the WATE.com website
- Listen to the radio, WIVK FM107.7 or call 588-6511
- The Y’s website at ymcaknoxville.org
- Call your local YMCA Branch
YMCA management will make the call as early a possible. Each branch will try to post information at the front entrance as quickly as possible and only if they are able to safely get to the branch.
It is our policy to follow the Knox County Schools’ decision to close by doing the following:
- If schools are closed due to weather, the YMCA will be on an 8AM delayed opening.
NOTE: When Knox County Schools are closed, the YMCA School Age Child Care program will be closed also.
