Aquatics
The Davis Family YMCA at Jefferson Park offers an eco friendly 25 yard pool, with many activities available during the day. Lap swim, aerobic sessions, for those who want a high impact workout, and Silversplash® for those who enjoy the water while strengthening the body's core and being kind on muscles and joints. And of course, swim lessons are a huge part of the YMCA! Learn to swim programs are offered for students of all ages and ability levels!

July Swim Lesson Details
PARENT/CHILD:
Ages = 6 months to 36 months
Description = 30 minute class introduces safety awareness and provides opportunity to develop pre-swimming skills in a fun atmosphere.
Cost: $20.00 for members, $32.00 for non-members
Preschool lessons ages 3-5 years old:
PIKE: Cannot swim on their own, learns to kick, float, blow bubbles, swim with flotation devise.
EEL: Comfortable in the water, puts face in, swims short distance with and without a float, begins paddle stroke and swims some on the back.
RAY: Swims without floatation, works on stroke development and increases endurance
Youth lessons ages 6- and up
GUPPY: Builds confidence, skill development, learns to kick, submerge, and float.
FISH: Comfortable in the water, learns crawl stroke with rotary breathing, continues to build skills and endurance learned in “guppy”
SHARK: Intermediate swimmer, works on all four competitive strokes, starting dives and turns adds to strength and endurance. Builds on skills learned in “fish”.
Cost: Regular Session (8 Classes)
Members: $45/participant
Non-Members: $65/participant
*6 Class Sessions
Members: $35/participant
Non-Members: $50/participant
Private Lessons (4 30-minute lessons)
Members $65/participant
Non-Members $100/participant

American Red Cross LIFEGUARD class will begin June 24th. Must be 15 years old by the end of the class and pass a prerequisite swim.
Pre-register for class beginning June1st, cost is $25.00; balance of $125.00 is paid after prerequisite test has been completed.
